Geographic Information System (GIS) Map Data
Development and Enhancements
GeoComm helps local government agencies enhance existing and develop
new, accurate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data for use in public
safety systems.
Our services include developing and enhancing vital GIS data layers such as
road centerlines, Emergency Services Zone (ESZ) boundaries, community
boundaries, and address points. These services are necessary to ensure
9-1-1 systems have a quality GIS base map to:
• locate emergencies
• track vehicles
• create a spatial selection for receipt of an emergency notification
• to navigate with
• and much more
Over the years, GeoComm has developed, refined, and implemented
processes that include a structured quality assurance curriculum and a
variety of tools to assist in quality data development and enhancement.
Processes and tools used by GeoComm meet industry standards and each
step of a data development or enhancement project are monitored to ensure
final deliverables are complete and accurate.
The GIS data we create is fine tuned to correspond to the Master Street
Address Guide (MSAG) and Automatic Location Identification (ALI)
database to ensure the highest possible rate of call plotting in E9-1-1
systems.
GeoComm prides itself in using proven, sophisticated techniques to
complete these services resulting in industry standard GIS data layers. With
a strong foundation, GeoComm builds new and enhances existing GIS data
layers for clients nationwide.
"I have enjoyed working with GeoComm! The map data analysis helped us ensure calls would
plot in GeoLynx 9-1-1 Dispatch GIS. I recommend GeoComm and, in fact, our neighboring
county purchased GeoLynx after my recommendation."
