GeoComm releases GeoLynx 9-1-1 Server, a Dispatch Web GIS
system
St. Cloud, MN: GeoComm announces the official release of GeoLynx 9-1-1
Server, a Web-based tactical dispatch Geographic Information System
(GIS). This dispatch mapping system is distributed across public safety
networks providing users with secure access to a Common Operating
Picture (COP) of the jurisdiction’s geography and real-time public safety
activity. GeoLynx 9-1-1 Server seamlessly connects PSAPs, responding
agencies, and mobile responders, increasing their ability to gather and
share information, strategize, plan, mitigate, track, and respond to
emergencies. This offering also leverages emerging NG9-1-1 ESINets for
application delivery and sharing, and provides NG9-1-1 additional data
display.
Built on ESRI ArcGIS Server and the ArcGIS Silverlight API, GeoLynx 9-1-1
Server can map live 9-1-1 calls, CAD calls for service, and Automatic
Vehicle Location (AVL) and sensor telemetry. GeoLynx 9-1-1 Server
provides a secure browser based public safety tactical GIS to users without
requiring heavy installation and on-going synchronization of software and
data on individual client computers.
“GeoLynx 9-1-1 Server is the third generation of web mapping from
GeoComm, and exciting because the technology and performance now
provides fluid real-time 9-1-1 dispatch mapping in a distributed application
ideal for delivery across NG9-1-1 ESINets. 9-1-1 Server is the third
application in our suite of public safety tactical GIS applications that now
includes focused apps for desktop, mobile, and server environments” John
Brosowsky, Product Development Director at GeoComm.
GeoLynx 9-1-1 Server has tools for:
• Browser-based tactical GIS mapping
• Mapping live feeds for 9-1-1, CAD, and AVL
• Live “mapped ALI” for 9-1-1 call-takers
• Hazardous Materials mapping and modeling tools
• User markup and drawing collaboration tools
• Hyperlinks to network cameras
• Role-based user authentication based on roles
• Supports WMS and GeoRSS
• Available crime mapping, and emergency notification add-ons
Benefits provided by GeoLynx 9-1-1 Server include: streamlined application
installation, maintenance, and data synchronization cutting out individual
workstation touches, fast high quality mapping and GIS that can be shared
across multiple PSAPs and ESINets, and a common situational awareness
created for all users of the system.
