"GeoLynx software with its
Phase 2 call plotting and AVL capability were and continue to be
invaluable in a large county such as ours.”GeoLynx AVL enables public safety and law
enforcement personnel to dynamically map and locate mobile emergency
vehicles (squad cars, fire trucks, ambulances, water patrol boats,
all-terrain vehicles, etc.) that are equipped with GPS tracking units.
Vehicle location display, available at a glance, creates more efficient
emergency dispatching and improves responder safety.
GeoComm
can help implement all aspects of your public safety AVL system.
We can:
GeoComms staff of qualified consultants and
implementation specialists can evaluate your current or future RF or IP data
communications system to ensure it will support public safety AVL.
GeoLynx AVL works with a variety of GPS equipment
ranging from GPS embedded inside mobile data computers to stand-alone AVL
modems. If you do not have a private radio data communications
infrastructure our plug and play GPS/AVL modem operates over public cellular
networks for a low monthly fee. With GeoLynx AVL you can track
all of your mobile assets in any type of vehicle with support for many
different types of GPS devices. GeoComm also offers covert and hidden
antenna GPS and AVL hardware, making undercover tracking for criminal
investigations more discreet.
Using GeoLynx AVL dispatchers can view emergency
vehicles navigating to the scene of an incident. If a vehicle misses a
turn or cannot locate the address, dispatch can provide turn-by-turn
directions by viewing their location and the location of the incident on the
map.
AVL hardware can also be connected to digital or
analog switch inputs in vehicles such as emergency lights and sirens that
enable the vehicle symbol on the map to reflect the current unit conditions
(e.g. pursuit, normal, etc.).
The rule-based geofence feature in GeoLynx AVL
can be configured to monitor vehicles. If a unit travels into a
restricted area or outside an allowed area of operation, the geofence
monitor will broadcast alert notifications via e-mail or SMS text message.
Geographic rules can be further refined by time of day so off-duty units do
not trigger fence alarms.

Vehicle locations can optionally be saved and
archived for playback and reporting after the fact to analyze response times
and patterns or in response to legal requests.
GeoLynx AVL interoperates with other
GeoLynx Family of Products such as GeoLynx 9-1-1, GeoLynx Mobile, and GeoLynx EOC.
GeoLynx adds dynamically tracked vehicle locations to the GIS map used in
these applications to create a common operating
picture (COP) for all users in the enterprise. Not only will GeoComm software users be
able to see real-time 9-1-1 calls, computer aided dispatch (CAD) calls for
service, and user markups they will also see the tracked vehicles provided
by the GeoLynx AVL add-on module.
