MARC & GeoComm Partner for Regionwide Study
The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), the nine county Kansas City metropolitan area with a population of 1.72 million, developed a plan for 9-1-1 security, redundancy, and diversity for their regional public safety system while partnering with GeoComm’s consulting team. GeoComm worked with the MARC public safety team to review and analyze the two major 9-1-1 systems in the region, the related infrastructure, and processes from operational, maintenance, and service level perspectives.

The time needed to ask a distressed caller what their address is and then attempt to locate them within the county limits the possibility for immediate response. Dickenson County faced that scenario if the addressing and databases for the county were not updated.
