SUMMARY OF GEOCOMM BENEFITS – 2008

Disability
Provided by UNUM.  Long term disability plan basics:
Coverage begins on 91st day of disability and provides 60% of wages.  100% of monthly premium covered by GeoComm. Short term basics:
Coverage begins on 7th day of disability and provides 60% or wages.  100% of monthly premium covered by GeoComm.  Maternity leave is included in short-term disability; up to 6-8 weeks.

Life/AD&D
Provided by UNUM.  Employee paid life insurance option.  Low cost, term insurance offered at group rates-up to $30,000.

401(k) Retirement Plan
Company match Safe Harbor Plan.
Company matches dollar to dollar for first 3% of salary contribution; 50 cents to the dollar for next 2% of salary contribution.

Cafeteria Plan

Public Safety Communications Consultants

GeoComm is an industry leader providing consultative services to public safety agencies on crucial issues such as wireless and VoIP 9-1-1 deployment; interoperability planning; staffing and management; telecommunications engineering and feasibility analysis pertaining to all facets of public safety communications.  GeoComm is experiencing unprecedented growth in its communications consulting segment and is issuing this general solicitation for credentialed communications experts.

GeoComm is recruiting staff consultants with strong backgrounds in public safety communications to join its growing team of highly talented and skilled professionals.  The company is looking for serious professionals with broad experience in public safety to deliver exemplary consultative services to its clients.  Applicants with formal project management experience and/or technical skills related to public safety radio systems are particularly desirable.  

GeoComm’s consultants are responsible for conducting research and analysis to provide expert consultation to public safety clients.  Consultants conduct complex project management resulting in the development and implementation of operational, management and technical projects and/or systems.  Extensive travel is required.

Sample Duties:

  • Analyzes operational, technical, and management functions of public safety organizations.
  • Applies technical expertise to project elements including the design and development of communications systems, management of bid and RFP processes, and systems procurement activities.
  • Efficiently manages assigned projects by coordinating with key participants, requesting needed resources, scheduling and conducting meetings, and providing updates to stakeholders.
  • Must prepare specifications, supporting documentation, plans, and estimates. May lead and direct the work of others.
  • Provides technical content for inclusion in various reports and documents on assigned projects.
  • Write reports and specifications, conduct interviews and facility surveys, estimate budgetary costs, evaluate vendor proposals, and participate in development of recommendations to clients.
  • Ensures that project deliverables are delivered within established timeframe.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Related Experience: Minimum of Seven Years

Desirable Training and Experience:

  • Past experience in telecommunications, operations or technical project management experience, preferably in a public safety related industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public safety clients.
  • Strong communications skills to include technical writing ability.
  • Candidate must independently perform highly responsible assignments requiring experience, judgment and discretion.

GIS Specialist

The GIS Specialist is responsible for the production of geographic information data; digital map data file production, database development, and map printing.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conducts all aspects of map development, map data assessments, software set ups and database development including GPS gathering; and functions as a Field Specialist as required.  Travel required.
  • Solicits information from contacts to obtain all necessary resources in a timely manner.
  • Takes customer and resident calls, involving the GIS Supervisor in complex customer issues.
  • Develops weekly reports, and makes sure the GIS Supervisor is aware of any potential down times.
  • Monitors own progress, and overall geographic services schedule on assigned projects.
  • Monitors and assures quality control on assigned projects.
  • Resolves customer and project issues promptly.
  • Develops and improves Client Services operations to be more efficient and effective.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of software required to complete job duties.
  • Monitors assigned maintenance projects, and utilizes call logs and maintenance forms appropriately.
  • Develops an understanding of the interaction of GIS technology; as it relates to the development of the Enhanced 9-1-1 system components of MSAG, telephone database, and postal coordination of address conversion.

Account Manager

Job Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for developing and implementing specific strategic action plans to meet or exceed sales and profitability goals. 

Essential Specific Job Duties:

  • Attains sales goals.
  • Develops strategic marketing/sales plans for an authorized geographical area in conjunction with the Vice President of Sales and Sales Manager.
  • Understands all GeoComm products, features, benefits, capabilities, operations, solutions, and applications.
  • Follows sales process from initial prospective client contact through appropriate sales and proposal presentations.
  • Submits requests for proposals containing necessary background data.
  • Participates in Trade Shows as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains CRM sales database.
  • Submits monthly reports to the Sales Manager pertaining to all sales activities to include prospective clients, marketing opportunities, proposal status, and contract closings.
  • Performs general management and coordinating activities on projects.

Software Developer

Job Summary:

The Software Developer reviews, analyzes, and modifies application programs including design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and installation.  They will consult with both external and internal customers to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.   

They are expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, corrections, or manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures.  They are familiar with relational database software, data communications software, and hardware.  They rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  They work under general supervision.  Perform a variety of tasks.  A certain degree amount of creativity is required. 

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Designs, builds, and maintains application systems. Has a working knowledge of data communications, and hardware. Creates programs applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems. Applies GeoComm Standards and suggests improvement to the Standards. May travel to customer sites to analyze issues and resolve them with occasional help.
  • Coordinates medium sized projects from design through implementation. Creates schedules that are both aggressive and realistic. Creates project plans that are flexibility and adaptable. Focuses on project objectives.
  • Communicates with Software Development Supervisor, Software Developers, Technical Support, Installation Services, and Technical Staff from other organizations to solve operational issues. Develops ability to communicate through professional development and skills training. Prepares a regular status report of projects in process. Meets with the Software Development Supervisor on a regular basis to discuss progress and variations from the original business requirements and technical approach used in the project. Creates appropriate documentation.
  • Proficient in appropriate programming languages and SQL.
  • Proficient in appropriate map engines, relational database systems, and other software components.
  • Proficient in appropriate GeoComm Software Products.
