Luzerne County, PA selects GeoComm for countywide addressing
project
St. Cloud, MN – Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, after an RFP process
and on-site vendor interviews, partnered with GeoComm to cleanup and
finish the 9-1-1 addressing for the county. Luzerne County has different
portions of the county at various stages of addressing development from
98 percent finished to not started. GeoComm is verifying and collecting
addresses in 11 municipalities or areas where there are known
addressing issues or address need to be converted from rural route
addressing to locatable physical addresses. We are verifying addresses
in the remaining 67 townships, boroughs, or cities.
GeoComm will dedicate nine on-site personnel in Luzerne County to
conduct GPS point collection fieldwork over an intense six month time
frame. The data will then be processed, workflows for maintenance
designed, and the data will be handed over to Luzerne County under an
aggressively planned schedule. The county plans to have completed 9-1-1
data for the entire county by the beginning of 2010.
“GeoComm’s GIS consultant Kathy Liljequist, GISP, is one of the nicest,
most knowledgeable people I have ever met within the public safety field.
She is definitely an asset to our organization. I look forward to working
with her and GeoComm in the future,” stated Fred Rosencrans, Luzerne
County Data Manager and Technical Support Supervisor Luzerne County
9-1-1.
