GeoComm Consultant Elected to NENA Executive Board
GeoComm continues to advance its industry knowledge and perspective
with the recent election of one of our communication consultants, Ron
Bloom, ENP, as the National Emergency Number Association's (NENA) first
Private Sector Director. The results were officially announced last week at
the NENA convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The NENA Private Sector Director position is a newly created position on
the NENA Executive Board. The director represents members in the
commercial or private sector membership category. Private sector members
provide products or services related to public safety emergency systems
and communications industry. The private sector membership represents
approximately 20 percent of the NENA membership, providing myriad
products and services ranging from consulting, GIS services,
telecommunication services, through the equipment commonly seen at the
nation's 7,100 Public Safety Answering Points. The private sector members
represent their companies ranging from globally based companies to
independent consulting firms.
Bloom will be responsible for establishing and maintain communications
with members of the membership segment, attendance at regional
conferences and board meetings, facilitating annual NENA Membership
Drive for membership segment, writing and distributing newsletters or other
correspondence to keep members informed of national board activities.
In addition, Bloom will be the NENA Executive Board liaison to the
Emergency Services Interconnection Forum (ESIF) and the NENA Technical
Services Committee.
"Ron's election to a national position of leadership in the public safety
